Dengue Fever



Dengue is transmitted by the bite of an Aedes mosquito infected with any one of the four dengue viruses. It occurs in tropical and sub-tropical areas of the world. Symptoms appear 3 to14 days after the infective bite. Dengue fever is a febrile illness that affects infants, young children and adults.Symptoms range from a mild fever, to incapacitating high fever, with severe headache, pain behind the eyes, muscle and joint pain, and rash.The dengue rash is characteristically bright red and usually appears first on the lower limbs and the chest; in some patients, it spreads to cover most of the body. The Platelet count of the patients will drop. If the number of Platelets is too low, excessive bleeding can occur.

Traditional Medicine Method
1. Haruan Fish Soup : to recover the Platelet count
2. Papaya Leaves Juice : to cure fever


How to prepare Haruan Fish Soup
Ingredients
a. One (1) Haruan Fish

b. Half (1/2) bowl of Gou Qi Zi

c. Three (3) bowls of water


Haruan Fish is also known as Ikan Haruan (in Bahasa Malaysia) or Snakehead fish.

Methods of Preparation
1. Wash the Haruan Fish with water. Do not remove the fish scale and the internal organs of the fish.
2. Put the Haruan Fish inside the slow cooker.
3. Add half bowl of Gou Qi Zi.
4. Add 3 bowls of water.
5. Slow cook it for few hours until it become one bowl of soup.
6. Serve hot or warm.



How to prepare Papaya Leaves Juice
Ingredients
1. 3 papaya leaves
2. 1 clean white cloth

Methods of Preparation
1. Wash the Papaya leaves.
2. Put the papaya leaves in the white cloth and squeeze it until the papaya leaves juice come out.
3. Only one small spoon of papaya leaves juice is enough for serving.
